Commissioner of Police, Gombe State, Mr Umar Chuso, has warned criminals to stay off the state: “We are ready to go after them. I have charged officers to rise up to the task and flush out the criminals. We have put in place robust security measures in commitment to proactive policing and safety of life and property.
The Nigeria Police nationwide security architecture as outlined by the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr Kayode Egbetokun, is visibility policing intelligence-led patrols and targeted operations. These are being intensified in places of worship, markets, recreational and event centres, motor parks, highways and other public spaces.
“The Tactical and Specialised Squad (TSS) is on heightened alert, with sustained surveillance and raids ongoing in identified blackspots and flashpoints. Officers have been directed to remain professional, firm and courteous in the discharge of their duties.

“The command has imbibed community policing. Officers are advised on discipline, professionalism and integrity as core values to uphold. Insubordination and misconduct would not be tolerated.
“I visited emirs reinforcing security collaboration between the police and traditional institution and other stakeholders to ensure a safer Benue. They should assist in providing intelligence information to security agencies. We have arrested 10 suspected armed robbers.”
