From Ighomuaye Lucky, Benin
Governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Edo State Commissioner of Education, Gideon Obhakhan, yesterday, said the people of Edo Central will continue to lobby for the zoning of the 2024 governorship slot to the senatorialdistrict.
Speaking with journalists in Benin City, Obhakhan stated that lobby was important as Edo Central does lacked the numerical strength to singlehandedly produce a governor and must garner support from other zones to actualize the ambition.
“So, for fairness and equity, we are lobbying and reaching out to other districts that for equity and fairness, they should support Esan extraction to produce the next governor after governor Obaseki.”
The former commissioner who said his quest to be the next governor was not a do-or-die approach, explained that his desire was to revamp the agricultural sector, boost infrastructure and ensure access roads to farms to boost food production in the state.
He also pledged to give priority to education if elected governor.
