Ahead of the August 15 governorship election in Osun State, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has inaugurated its campaign committees with a mandate on issue-based, people-focused, well-coordinated and result-driven campaign.

The Senator, representing Osun East, Francis Fadahunsi, vowed that Governor Ademola Adeleke would not return to the government house.

He decried the spate of land degradation in his constituency as a result of illegal mining, stating that Bola Oyebamiji would be elected to bring sanity to the state.

“It is a pity that our huge resources are wasting away through the menace of illegal mining. The government is wasting hundreds of billions of Naira in resources and exposing our lands in Ijesa, especially Obokun, Oriade, Atakunmosa West and Atakunmosa East, to danger through degradation.

“Besides, in the Obokun/Oriade, Atakunmosa West and Atakunmosa East area, there is no single equipped hospital for the populace to access quality healthcare services.

“We will ensure the governor does not return, AMBO will come and bring about accountable governance to ensure that sanity returns to the mining business in the state and make more revenue available for the business of the government,” Fadahunsi said.

The DG, APC Campaign Council, Oluwole Oke, lamented wastage of resources of the state, insisting that the incumbent government is gone.

“Their days are numbered in office. The truth remains that the government has failed the people of Osun State on all fronts. In the area of administration, they have displayed incompetence. They have not been fair to Osun people.

The resources that have accrued to the state in the last three and half years have been plundered and misused. We don’t have school buildings, we don’t have teachers, our children are no longer going to public schools again and these are the schools that we all attended.

“We have no equipped hospital that citizens of Osun State can use, our agricultural sector has failed. You can’t just say because you’re paying civil servants, you achieve an act of governance. There are laws that when you employ a worker, it is certain, it is obvious that they have to be paid. Labourers deserve their wages, it’s not a big deal, it’s not a new thing.

“Our party is coming back to address all these issues, to look at the welfare of the citizens and banish poverty in the state. That is our key agenda and these are the issues that our committee members, particularly the mobilisation committee will be telling Osun people and with that, I don’t have fear in my mind that we will win this election.

“I have always said this, we are experts in removing a sitting governor. We will remove Adeleke, before 10pm on August 15. Our candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji will emerge,” Oke said.
