After returning from a tour of Ghana last week, The Pillaz Music, a gospel acappella group is poised to celebrate in grand style its 25th anniversary on Sunday, January 21, 2024 in Lagos.
According to Minstrel Akan, president, The Pillaz Music, the group was established January 14, 1999 as a gospel music band that strictly sings acappella, which they created and dubbed ‘Acap-Afrik’, a unique style of singing acappella in every Nigerian language.
The band has released three albums and has won several awards for its unique style of music and stagecraft.
Their songs are making waves on local and international radio stations all over the world.
“We have worked with both local and international gospel artistes like the late Sammie Okposo, Charly Boy and Elvina Ibru among others,” Akan said.
The group boasts of different members, from the founders to those that joined later like Damilola Ogonnoh, Jheri Blake, Kleb Shout, Prosper Nwokeoma, Austin Oise, Olumide Ehimowo, Lawrence Umoh, Sunny Kelvin, Akan Chris, Odii Nnorom, Adebayo Akindeinde, and Joel Uju.
