A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Tony Okocha, has stirred controversy after claiming that election results were written and handed over to electoral officials for announcement.
Speaking during a press conference, Okocha said such practices occurred during his time, alleging that outcomes were prepared in advance and then passed to the commission for formal declaration.
“Elections could be written inside the chief of staff’s office. It was done so in my time; we did so. We write the result and hand it over to the commission; their business is to go and announce,” he stated.
The remarks from the APC chieftain, Tony Okocha, on election results have since gone viral following a circulating video on X, sparking fresh concerns about the integrity of INEC and Nigeria’s electoral process, with critics calling for clarification and possible investigation.
