We were not elected to go and fight in Abuja – Akpabio

The President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio says they were not elected to fight in Abuja but rather help the president succeed.
Senator Akpabio disclosed this in Calabar in an address he presented during the South South Zonal meeting of the All Progressives Congress.
The Senate President emphasized that the 10th senate under his leadership has passed a lot of bills and is determined to work to ensure results for the country.
“We were not elected to go and fight in Abuja but we are elected to help the President succeed.
“In the 10th Senate, we have passed a lot of bills and motions but we are determined to protect Nigerians.
“We must work together with the executive to achieve result for the country”, Senator Akpabio said.
He said his Senate presidency is not about him but the zone as they cannot wait for another fourty five years to produce a senate president.
He charged leaders of the party in Edo state to rally round its gubernatorial candidate in the forthcoming elections and promised to help him succeed.
He commended President Tinubu for the Student Loan Act and his courage to remove the fuel subsidy, saying the pains will soon be over soon.
Senator Akpabio also promised that very soon negotiations on minimum wage will be concluded and Nigerians will be happy for it.
