Alex Iwobi believes the Super Eagles must find a solution to stop Gabon star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs.

Aubameyang, 36, has shone for the Panthers in the qualification series.

The Olympic Marseille striker has seven goals in nine matches for the West Africans.

The former Arsenal and Chelsea star will lead the line for Thierry Mouyouma’s side against the Super Eagles in the first semi-final of the play-offs on Thursday.

Iwobi said it is important for them to “lock him up.”

“He’s getting on, but you wouldn’t think that. He’s a youthful guy,” Iwobi told BBC Sport.

“I don’t know how we’re going to lock him up.”
