We must find abducted Kebbi children – Army Chief

COAS and army troops

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, has emphasised the urgency of finding the students abducted from Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School (GGCSS) Maga, in Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The COAS directed troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA to find the students during an operational tour of Kebbi State.

A statement issued on Tuesday by the Media Information Officer of Operation FANSAN YANMA, Captain David Adewusi, revealed that Gen. Shaibu charged the troops to conduct intelligence-driven operations and maintain relentless, day-and-night pursuit of the abductors.

“We must find these children. Act decisively and professionally on all intelligence. Success is not optional,” Shaibu said.

The COAS met local vigilantes and hunters and stated that they were critical partners in the operation to rescue the abducted students.

Shaibu called on them to leverage their knowledge of the terrain in collaboration with troops to locate and neutralise the criminal elements.

“Together, we will restore peace and ensure children can attend school safely,” he added.
