According to the Head of Mission, Amb. Ahmed Marafa Mohammed, WAYC is enthusiastically advocating for youth inclusion in government, and policy making.

As a front line youth network, WAYC is devoted to coordinating and disseminating information and strategizing plans that will benefit the continent through roundtable discussions and an annual summit that comprises all the countries of the sub-region.

“We have painstakingly studied the activities of certain leaders in the Sub-region over the years through our network of interconnectedness with other sub-organisations in different countries which make annual reports to the Congress.

The decision of the Congress to appoint Hon. Ikechukwu Ezeugwu as the Chairman of WAYC Advisory Council was borne out of the need for African youths to tap from the wealth of knowledge and experience he has demonstrated in leadership positions and his compassion for humanity”

“The Congress is designed to combat the challenges faced by the sub-region, by providing sustainable solutions that benefit West Africa, incorporating young people to be steadfast in bringing economic and technological advancement to the sub-region, and to help their home countries achieve sustainable development goals” Ambassador Ahmed said.
