Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HSCF), Didi Walson-Jack, on Monday announced the reintroduction of the federal civil service anthem, aimed at fostering a culture of efficiency and integrity among public servants.
The anthem was first introduced in 2018 and the HSCF said she is bringing it back to raise more awareness and consciousness amongst civil servants and the public.
The audio and video clip of the rebranded anthem was unveiled to reporters and media executives at the maiden meet and greet session with the Head of Civil Service of the Federation in Abuja.
She stated that the anthem would be sung by all federal civil servants, public servants, and indeed Nigerians.
“The anthem has been reintroduced to drive the reforms. It is expected that the anthem will be sung by all civil and public servants and indeed Nigerians. And it will be an anthem that will encourage every public servant to imbibe the lyrics of the anthem which is just saying to us that we must be efficient, productive, incorruptible, and citizen centered.
“So that epic culture is what we are hoping that the anthem will create and it will be something the civil servants will actually exemplify, that every civil servant will be efficient, productive, incorruptible, and citizen centered”, she said.

Walson-Jack added: “One request I make is that you all will help us popularise this anthem so that every nook and cranny of Nigeria will play this anthem. We need to imbibe the words and we need to live it.”
Walson-Jack emphasised that the federal civil service strategy and implementation plan 2021 to 2025 was an evolving plan, her office had resolved to bring on board creativity and innovation to accelerate that plan.
She said: “You will recall that the office has the federal civil service strategy and implementation 2021-2025 and that is the plan that we are still driving. However, we have resolved to bring on board creativity and innovation to accelerate that plan.
And so the six pillars which represent the ongoing reforms require adequate coverage so that the implementation can be fastracked so that indeed the federal civil service delivers on the Renewed Hope Agenda”, she said.
While thanking President Bola Tinubu for his support of the service reforms, highlighted several initiatives aimed at reforming the civil service, including a renewed focus on creativity and innovation. She noted, “We want to request that you collaborate more with us… so that the reforms… get the full publicity required.”
The Head of Civil Service of Federation expressed gratitude to the media for their ongoing support. “I know that this office has always been supported by the media… Thank you for the support you have given us,” she stated, emphasizing the importance of collaboration.
Walson-Jack concluded by affirming her commitment to ongoing media engagement, stating, “This will not be the last; we will have other fora to interact with you.”
