WAFCON: Super Falcons players visit injured South Africa player in hospital

Super Falcons players on Tuesday paid a visit to South Africa Banyana Banyana midfielder Gabriela Salgado in Casablanca, demonstrating their sportsmanship.

Salgado was seriously injured during Banyana Banyana’s 2-1 loss against Nigeria on Tuesday at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca. An inadvertent contact resulted in a fracture in the player’s left leg.=

She had a successful operation at Mohammed VI University Hospital on Wednesday.

The 27-year-old is expected to be out of action for about a year.

Banyana Banyana will face Ghana in the third-place match at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations on Friday.
