Super Falcons head coach Justine Madugu has said his side must be fully prepared for a tough challenge as they begin their quest for another continental title at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Nigeria will be aiming to win a record-extending 11th WAFCON title at the tournament, which got underway in Morocco on Sunday.
The Super Falcons will open their campaign against Malawi’s Scorchers at the Al Madina Stadium in Rabat on Tuesday, with Madugu expecting a difficult contest as his team begins its title defence.
The experienced tactician is aware other countries will be desperate to wrestle the title from his team.

He declared that his players will give their best to win the trophy again.
“Now that we are champions, every other team will want to draw you down,” Madugu told BBC Sport.
“It’s not going to be easy. We are quite aware of that and we are going to be fully ready.”
