Paris Saint-Germain Féminine midfielder Jennifer Echeginni has issued a warning to her Super Falcons teammates ahead of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), urging them not to underestimate their group stage opponents, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Nigeria, nine-time champions of the tournament, have been drawn in a group alongside Algeria, Tunisia, and Botswana.
Speaking in an interview with CAF media, Echeginni emphasized the importance of maintaining focus and not taking any team for granted.

“It’s a tough group. On paper, we’re the favourites, clearly. But in this kind of tournament, that doesn’t mean anything,” she said.
“No team should be taken lightly. We need to be focused from the first minute and never underestimate the opposition.”
Echeginni is widely expected to make the final squad for the competition, which will be held in Morocco.
