The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has floated entries for the May/June 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for school candidates nationwide.
The registration process for the school examination involves several stages, such as the upload of continuous assessment scores (CASS) 1 and 2, which commenced on Tuesday, August 19th, and end on Friday, October 31st, 2025.
The Zonal Coordinator, L.M. Odoh, in a circular to principals, said offline registration of candidates would commence on Thursday, September 16th, and end on Friday, November 21st, 2025, while online registration would begin on Monday, September 22nd, and end on Friday, December 12th, 2025.

Odoh further stated that the May/June WASSCE would be a combination of hybrid computer based (CB-WASSCE) and pen-and-paper formats.
He said: “Please note that the conduct of WASSCE for school candidates, 2026 will be a combination of hybrid computer-based and pen—and-paper format. We also reiterate that CB-WASSCE for school candidates, 2026 will be centre based as against school based. The examination will be conducted in pooled centres.”
According to him, WAEC would soon invite the school principals and registration officers for a briefing/training sessions on the procedures for error free registration exercise and practical use of Candidates’ Identity Verification, Attendance, Malpractice, and Post Examination Management System (CIVAMPEMS).
