A former Permanent Secretary in Nasarawa State’s Ministry of Information, Yusuf Musa, has dismissed suggestions that the ₦50,000 empowerment programme being implemented through Maryam Wadada, wife of Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada, is a campaign strategy.

Speaking on ARISE News, Musa said the initiative was designed to support vulnerable people and help them strengthen their small businesses.

“Sen. Wadada, through his wife, is working with vulnerable people to support their small businesses. This ₦50,000 empowerment brought excitement to the carefully selected beneficiaries,” he said.

He maintained that the beneficiaries were selected without consideration for their political, religious or ethnic affiliations.

“The funds were disbursed without regard to political affiliation, religion, or ethnicity, and certainly not as a campaign strategy,” Musa said.

Musa also addressed the availability of clean naira notes, saying Nigerians could access them through commercial banks.

“Clean naira notes are available nationwide to Nigerians. Once you maintain a good relationship with bank staff or managers, you can access amounts above the standard limit,” he said.
