Captain William Troost-Ekong and two others, Amas Obasogie and Bruno Onyemaechi, are the early birds as the Super Eagles camp officially opens today in Uyo.

The team is preparing for the last leg of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and South Africa as Ekong marks his 32nd birthday today.

The Super Eagles have must-win ties, starting with Saturday’s clash with Rwanda before travelling to battle Bafana Bafana in another crucial clash three days later.

The Super Eagles are in a precarious fourth position in their qualifying Group C with seven points, six points behind South Africa, who lead the group with 13 points.

Meanwhile, the Rwanda delegation is expected to arrive in Lagos on Tuesday afternoon.
