The All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial candidate for Gombe South Senatorial District, Mr. Joshua Lidani has called on the Christian faithful in the state to consider electing leaders with God-fearing hearts in the upcoming general elections.
Lidani stated this while speaking during the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) Men fellowship International 25th annual conference for Gombe District Church Council which was held on Sunday in Gombe.
He urged the Churches and Christians in Gombe to apply wisdom when voting and choosing the next set of leaders in the state and the country. He said, “Do not consider physical look or worthily gain but vote wisely for a patriotic Nigerian who fears God”.
Also speaking at the conference which was themed “Occupy till I come, Luke chapter 19:13, the senatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Gombe South Mr. Anthony Yaro urged the congregation to vote for leaders who have respect for religious and ethnic diversity as well as respect for the rule of law, justice, and fairness for all.
Yaro who was represented by the spokesperson of the Gombe state PDP campaign team Mr. Ayuba Aluke admonished Nigerians to think wisely and vote for a leader that is ready to hit the ground running and serve them well. He said, “Nigerians need to choose someone who would not compromise the interests of the country for his benefit”.
According to him, electing credible leaders will not be possible without obtaining their Permanent Voters Card (PVC), “Therefore I am appealing to those of you that have not collected their PVCs to go and collect it.
Rev. Maianguwa Liman who was the guest speaker at the conference emphasized the need for the Christian faithful to fear God in all they do as commanded by the Bible, “Fear of God will keep you away from sin, all kinds of goods will flow into the life of the person who fears God,” he said.
