Fast rising performer, Adaeze Vonita Pearl Aku simply known as Vonita, has hit the market with a new movie, Ada Owerri.
The Shakara crooner, whose song is still trending, having featured Lyta of Marlian Records, is the brain behind the epic movie.
According to Vonita, who aside playing the lead role, also wrote and produced the movie, Ada Owerri tells the story of a young girl who dropped out of school and had a dream of becoming a successful musician. She grew up in the ghettos, and did a lot of illegal businesses to survive. Her mother was a poor widow who suffered a lot of pressure and humiliation from her in-laws, because she didn’t bear a male child.
However, Ada Owerri swore she would be a replacement for a male child and fill the void in her family. So determined was she that she set out on a journey to Lagos in pursuit of greener pastures. While in Lagos, she ran into Amaka, her old friend in school, who introduced her to a wealthy chief. But the story took a dramatic turn when Ada Owerri later duped the chief and ran back to her village to fulfill the promises she made to her poor mother.
The movie features some of the finest actors in Nollywood.
