Visa has pledged continued investment and support for consumers and businesses to access global markets through secure and seamless payment solutions.

The company said Nigerians can continue to use Visa cards including Naira and USD-denominated cards issued by partner banks for international transactions across millions of merchants and service providers around the world. This, Visa explained, underscores its commitment to providing reliable cross-border payment options that empower consumers, enable trade, and strengthen Nigeria’s integration into the global digital economy.

As one of Nigeria’s most established payment partners, Visa said it remains focused on advancing financial inclusion and digital access through collaborations with banks, fintechs, and merchants. The company noted that its extensive global payment network continues to ensure Nigerian consumers enjoy ease, safety, and global acceptance when making transactions for travel, education, e-commerce, or digital subscriptions.

Andrew Uaboi, Vice President and Cluster Head, Visa West Africa, said Visa’s investment in Nigeria’s payment infrastructure is driven by the growing demand for secure and convenient cross-border transactions.

“Visa continues to lead the way in enabling trusted global commerce. Our globally accepted cards give Nigerians greater ease and confidence to make secure and convenient international payments, supporting their daily needs and connecting them to opportunities worldwide. Whether you’re a small business sourcing materials, a student paying tuition, or a traveler planning your next trip, Visa ensures your transactions are simple, safe, and seamless,” Uaboi said.

He noted that Visa’s global network is built on advanced technology designed to detect and prevent fraud in real time. This multilayered security framework, he said, provides unmatched protection for consumers and businesses, reinforcing Visa’s reputation as one of the most trusted facilitators of cross-border payments.

Visa also highlighted its support for Nigeria’s growing small business sector, noting that many entrepreneurs rely on international payments to access suppliers, digital tools, and new markets. The company said its solutions are designed to help these businesses expand their operations and compete more effectively on the global stage.

“Cross-border payments are an essential part of today’s connected economy,” Uaboi added. “We understand how important it is for Nigerians to access global goods and services with ease and confidence. Visa’s global network guarantees broad acceptance and reliability, giving cardholders the assurance that their payments will be recognized and processed anywhere Visa is accepted.”

Visa said it will continue to deepen its partnerships within Nigeria’s financial ecosystem to enhance digital access and strengthen consumer trust. Through its bank-issued Naira and USD Visa cards, Nigerians can make international payments confidently, a move the company said reflects its leadership in driving safe and inclusive participation in the global economy.

Visa operates one of the world’s largest digital payment networks, facilitating over 215 billion transactions annually across more than 200 countries and territories. The company said its mission is to connect the world through innovative, convenient, and secure payments, enabling individuals, businesses, and economies to thrive.
