Visa fraud can lead to permanent ban – US to Nigerians

US visa

The United States Embassy in Abuja has issued a warning to Nigerians on the consequences of visa fraud, stating that it could lead to a permanent visa ban.

The warning is conveyed in a post on X, whereby the embassy cautions members of the public against falsifying information or submitting fake documents.

Visa fraud has serious consequences. Lying or providing fake documents can lead to permanent visa bans under US immigration law. This means you will never go,” the post reads.

The warning comes after a meeting between US Ambassador Richard Mills and Nigerian Foreign Minister Yusuf Tuggar. Both men engaged in talks about cooperation between the two nations.

The embassy added, “The United States looks forward to continuing to work together with Nigeria on issues of mutual concern.”
