Pierre Kompany, father of Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany and a member of the Brussels Parliament, on Thursday arrived at the parliament building rocking a Bayern Munich scarf.

The gesture was captured in photos and videos that quickly spread on social media.

It came one day after the German champions advanced to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals with a dramatic 6-4 aggregate victory over Real Madrid in the quarter-finals.

Pierre, a long-serving politician of Congolese origin who has represented Brussels in various elected roles, has never hidden his support for his son’s football career.

Kompany, the former Manchester City and Belgium captain, took over as Bayern coach in 2024 and is on course to clinch the UEFA Champions League, Bundesliga, and DFB-Pokal titles this season.
