Striker Victor Boniface has been criticised for his lacklustre performance after Werder Bremen’s clash with Mainz on Saturday ended in a 1-1 draw.
Boniface seemed a shadow of himself as he failed to score, recorded no shots on target and had no assist throughout the match.
Singling out his poor outing, Weder Bremen coach Horst Steffen stated that Boniface could do better.

“He [Boniface] tried to hold onto the ball up front. Today I thought to myself: Come on, he can do even better,” Steffen said, according to Bild.
Werder Bremen will square off against Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga on Friday, with hopes of Boniface leading the team to victory.
