Real Madrid has imposed a €500,000 fine each on Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni following what the club described as a serious internal incident involving the squad.

The decision follows disciplinary proceedings opened after a heated exchange between both players reportedly escalated inside the dressing room, prompting intervention from club officials.

In a statement released by the club, Madrid confirmed that both players were summoned before the internal investigator and admitted fault over the incident.

“Real Madrid announces that, following the events that led to the opening yesterday of a disciplinary file against our players Federico Valverde and Aurélien Tchouaméni, both have today appeared before the investigator handling the case,” the club said.

The statement added that both players expressed remorse during the hearing.

“The players showed their total regret for what happened and have apologised to each other,” it said.

They also apologised to teammates, coaching staff and supporters, accepting whatever punishment the club decided.

“They have conveyed their apologies to the club, their teammates, the coaching staff and the fans,” the statement noted.

Madrid then confirmed the sanction.

“Real Madrid has decided to impose a financial penalty of €500,000 on each player, thereby concluding the internal disciplinary proceedings,” the club announced.

The matter has now been formally closed internally, though it has raised fresh questions about squad discipline as Madrid continues preparations for key fixtures, including El Clásico.
