First Lady of Imo State Chioma Uzodinma has proposed a crèche inside court premises in the State to enable nursing female lawyers easy access to their babies while on duty.
She made the proposal while playing host to the Imo state chapter of the Nigerian Bar Association Women Forum (NBAWF) during a courtesy visit to decorate her as a member and the presentation of award to her for immense support to conferences at the national level.
According to her, the creation of the crèche within the court premises was a noble idea, to support nursing female lawyers balance their roles as mothers and technocrats.
Mrs Uzodinma during the visit commended Mrs Chinyere Okorocha,National coordinator of NBAWF for her immense support to the association even as she pledged to always support it.
In her own speech, the State leader of NBAWF, Chetachi Udeh explained that the forum was open to all female legal practitioners called to the Nigerian Bar, adding that their slogan was empowering female lawyers for success.
She however appealed for equipment to furnish the crèche, a bus to assist the forum attend conferences, facilitate movements and interventions around the state among others.
In a similar development, the NBAWF has commended the First lady on her emergence as the National Secretary of Renewed Hope Initiative Foundation of the First Lady of Nigeria, Sen Oluremi Tinubu, saying it was well deserved for her good work and selfless services to Imo people.
