The Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) has re-elected Uyi Akpata as its President for a second consecutive term, following a unanimous, uncontested election held under the supervision of an independent electoral committee.
Wale Obalola also returned unopposed as Vice President, with both candidates receiving seven votes each, in what stakeholders have described as a historic and symbolic election for the future of Nigerian cricket.
The elections, conducted at the federation’s Annual General Meeting, also ushered in new zonal and stakeholder representatives, signaling what many believe could be the beginning of a new era of consolidation, reform, and growth for the sport across the country.
The zonal elections produced a mix of returning and new faces across Nigeria’s geopolitical zones:
South East: Chika Okoro emerged unopposed, securing five votes.
