With a simple prophetic statement in 2002, Ugosimba Women and Children Initiative (UWCI) found its way into the heart of Lady Jacinta Nwaeto. After 18 years of existence, it is set to be officially inaugurated as a non-governmental organisation on October 30.

Nwaeto, who is the founder of the organisation, said: “With the forthcoming inauguration, the initiative is also set to empower 150 women selected randomly from various walks of life with bags of rice, garri, noodles and groundnut oil. In the same vein, we will show appreciation to our supporters who stood with us over the years with recognition and awards. We also have plans for cash donations to our women and children when the time comes.”

Nwaeto explained that, since she got the vision, she had been handling it all alone until she realised that she needed support. She said a few men and women, who would be recognized during the ceremony, were on hand to support her vision and dream.

Lady Nwaeto, who has given a good account of herself as a philanthropist, said she is always willing to serve.

Many men and women of timbre and calibre are expected to grace the occasion.
