The heavyweight boxing scene is gearing up for another potential showdown for the undisputed championship, with reports indicating that Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois will face off in a rematch on July 19 at Wembley Stadium.
According to The Ring Magazine, the highly anticipated bout will take place in London, though neither Usyk’s nor Dubois’ camp has officially confirmed the date. The magazine is owned by Turki Alalshikh, chairman of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority and a key organizer of high-profile boxing events.
Usyk, 38, currently holds the WBA, WBC, and WBO heavyweight titles and remains undefeated in his professional career. The Ukrainian defeated Dubois in a controversial ninth-round stoppage during their first meeting in Poland in August 2023. That fight sparked debate after a fifth-round body shot from Dubois was deemed a low blow, allowing Usyk time to recover. The punch, which replays showed landed near Usyk’s beltline, was not ruled a knockdown and no penalty was issued to Dubois.
Since then, Dubois has captured the IBF heavyweight title, a belt vacated by Usyk when he opted to pursue a rematch with Tyson Fury. Usyk triumphed over Fury in December in Saudi Arabia, marking his second victory over the Briton after their initial clash in May — a fight that crowned the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 2000.
Dubois, meanwhile, solidified his status with a commanding fifth-round knockout over fellow Briton Anthony Joshua in September, his first bout as IBF champion.
If confirmed, the Usyk-Dubois rematch could set the stage for another milestone in the pursuit of heavyweight boxing supremacy.
