In his words ‘#Blacksmith was born out of a desire to explore the complexities of identity and belonging in contemporary Africa. The story was inspired by my Executive Producer Dr. Jaiye Kuti and observations of societal dynamics and issues revolving around Money Rituals. It is a reflection of the decadence in morals in our community whereby people are no more patience about LIFE, everyone wants fast path into success.
“The story was set in the 1970, Nigeria, blending vintage elements and tradition with modernity to create a compelling narrative that resonates with audiences.
We were intentional about how we intend to tell the story hence why we made it a period piece, so we approached each aspect of production with meticulous attention to detail, for example the Props, Costume, set and all, hence our commitment to excellence.
“We assembled a team of highly skilled professionals who shared our vision and passion for storytelling. From pre-production planning to post-production refinement, every decision was made with the intention of elevating the overall quality of the film.’

Growing up in Ibadan, Oyo state Nigeria, I’ve been exposed to a rich tapestry of cultures, traditions, and perspectives that shaped my worldview. These influences find their way into my work, allowing me to create stories that are relatable, nuanced, and reflective of the diverse African experience.’
