Usheoritse Itsekiri led two other Nigerian men 100m qualification into the semifinals on Monday morning at the University of Ghana stadium, venue of the 13th African Games athletics events.
Itsekiri finished 10.19sec behind Alobwede Eseme of Cameroon who braced the tape at 10.15 sec.
Consider Ekanem qualified at 10.44 seconds while Israel Okon finished 10.55 seconds.
Similarly, the women’s 100 also recorded all three entries qualified as Justina Eyakpobeyan finished 11.43 seconds behind Gambia’s Gina Mariam Bass.
Joining Justina to fly Nigeria’s flag at the 100m women’s semifinals are Olayinka Olajide (11.51sec) and Blessing Ogundiran (11.65 sec).
