Robert F Kennedy Jr might leave the 2024 race to collaborate with Donald Trump, according to his running mate.

In an episode of the ‘Impact Theory with Tom Bilyeu’ podcast, Nicole Shanahan, Kennedy’s VP choice, talked about the possibility.

Shanahan outlined two options: continue campaigning and risk splitting votes, leading to a Kamala Harris and Tim Walz victory, or withdraw and align with Trump. She acknowledged this as a difficult decision.

Expressing a preference, Shanahan stated she trusts Trump and his VP pick, Senator JD Vance, over Harris and Walz. She referenced influential figures like Peter Thiel and Reid Hoffman to highlight her stance.

In a recent Fox News survey, Trump is just ahead of Harris by a small margin, while Kennedy, an independent, received 6% of the vote in a longer survey. From his previous peaks, this is a decline.

Shanahan noted that a significant portion of Trump supporters might back Kennedy if he remains in the race, while fewer Harris supporters would do the same.

She also mentioned the long-term benefits of Kennedy achieving over 5% of the vote, which could aid future independent candidates with ballot access and funding.

Reports suggest Trump met with Kennedy to discuss a possible endorsement and potential positions in a future administration. Meanwhile, Harris’s campaign declined similar discussions with Kennedy.

A Democratic National Committee source dismissed the idea of negotiating with Kennedy, labelling him a ‘MAGA-funded fringe candidate.’
