US and Israeli forces have struck at least 16 Iranian cargo vessels in port towns along the Gulf, according to Iranian media reports.

A local official in Hormozgan province, quoted by Tasnim news agency, said the vessels owned by residents of Bandar Lengeh and Bandar Kong were completely destroyed in the attack.

“Following the American–Zionist air attack, at least 16 cargo vessels belonging to citizens of the towns of Bandar Lengeh and Bandar Kong were completely burnt in the fire,” the official said.

The reported strikes signal a further escalation in the ongoing conflict involving Iran, Israel and the United States, with maritime assets now becoming direct targets.

The affected port towns form part of Iran’s key coastal trade network along the Gulf, an area vital to regional commerce and logistics.

There was no immediate confirmation from US or Israeli authorities, and details of possible casualties were not available at the time of filing this report.

The incident is likely to heighten concerns over maritime security and energy supply routes, as tensions continue to rise across the region.
