US delivers military supplies to Nigeria in fight against terrorism

US delivers military supplies to Nigeria

Nigeria’s fight against terrorism has received a major boost following the delivery of military supplies from the United States government.

The development was revealed on Tuesday via a post on the social media platform X by the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM).

The statement said the delivery is to show support for Nigeria’s current security operations.

“U.S. forces delivered critical military supplies to our Nigerian partners in Abuja. This delivery supports Nigeria’s ongoing operations and emphasises our shared security partnership,” the X post reads.

A delegation was dispatched to Washington by the federal government in November 2025. Led by the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, it met with senior officials in the US.

Among other things, the delegation refuted the alleged killing of Nigerian Christians in the country, saying such narratives would only cause disunity among citizens.
