United States-based healthcare expert and entrepreneur, Dr. Chetachi Nwoga, has formally declared her intention to represent Owerri East Senatorial District at the National Assembly.

Nwoga, an Ahiazu Mbaise, Imo State native and cousin to the late astute politician Innocent Nwoga, made her declaration before stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), community heads, council chairman, Larry Chikwe and traditional rulers at the Ahiazu Mbaise council headquarters.

Addressing the gathering, the philanthropist said her ambition was driven by a desire to deliver proper representation to her people, especially the downtrodden.

“I’m happy today. I wish my parents were here just to witness this step their first daughter has taken. This means a lot to me because it’s my bloodline. I will dedicate this to my late parents, Godwin and Chinyere Nwoga,” she said.

Nwoga thanked constituents for the reception, promising not to disappoint them. “I’m here to serve all of you. I’m here to be a better representation for Ahiazu Mbaise. What I’m known for is humanity, and the time for humanity is now. Watch out for what I’m going to do. I’ve never collected money doing my humanitarian work, which means if I go in there I will do more.

The US-based healthcare expert stressed that her decision to contest was not motivated by power or money. “My decision to serve is not for power or money because I’m contented with what I have,” she added.

Nwoga is expected to contest on the platform of the APC.
