20 corps members kidnapped in Imo State on Independence Day, October 1, have regained their freedom.
The corps members who were travelling in two buses from Oyo State en route to Uyo, Akwa Ibom State and Bende in Abia State, respectively, were kidnapped at Umunoha, Imo State on the Owerri-Onitsha Road and marched into the bush.
It was also gathered that another kidnapped victim regained his freedom alongside the fresh university graduates.
After their release, they were taken to the state headquarters of the Department of State Security in Owerri, the state capital, where they are receiving medical attention as of the time of reporting this development.
Daily Sun had yet to establish if any ransom was paid before the release of the abducted corps members.
Security men who are with the kidnapped victim confirmed to our correspondent that the corps members were at DSS headquarters and were receiving medical attention.
