Deputy Chairman of the ADC Manifesto and Policy Committee, Pat Utomi, has alleged that hidden external forces are deliberately working to destabilise Nigeria’s major opposition parties, including the Labour Party (LP), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Pat Utomi made the claim on Tuesday during an interview on ARISE NEWS, where he spoke on what he described as coordinated interference aimed at weakening opposition platforms ahead of future political contests.

According to him, every political party naturally contains a mix of loyal and disruptive elements, but outside actors are exploiting these internal divisions by recruiting willing insiders to create confusion and unrest.

“In all political parties, there will be the good, bad, and ugly, and they are willing tools that can be used by outside forces,” Utomi said.

He explained that when there is a determined external effort to undermine political institutions, such actors can easily identify vulnerable individuals within party structures and use them to generate instability.

“And if there is a determined effort from outside… then it is easy to find those willing tools and use them to cause irritations within the systems,” he added.

Utomi’s remarks come amid growing internal tensions in several opposition parties, with disputes over leadership, conventions, and party control increasingly shaping Nigeria’s political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections.
