Sola Ojo, Kaduna
In order to prevent an escalation of fresh fights that broke out among the residents of Kasuwan Magani in Kajuru local government area of Kaduna State, the state government has imposed a 24-hour curfew on the area.
Kasuwan Magani and several other communities of Kajuru local government have not known peace for some time now following religious and tribal unrest that had sent scores to their early grave and several properties wasted.
The imposition of the curfew which was made public by the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Nasir El-Rufai on Media and Publicity, Samuel Aruwan, is with immediate effect.
The short statement read: “Following events in Kasuwan Magani, the dusk-to-dawn curfew that has been in place in Kajuru LGA has been extended to 24-hours in the entire local government area.
“The 24-hour curfew in the entire Kajuru LGA is with immediate effect and will be enforced until further notice,” Aruwan said, quoting the Deputy Governor, Arch Barnabas Bala Bantex.
