Leading travel organisation, Wakanow Group, has unveiled its new product, Unpacked, which is designed to foster travel through innovation and technology. The unveiling was done at event which had in attendance officials of Mastercard, Flutterwave, Paystax, Moneypoint, traveling agents, airlines operators, journalists and corporate bodies.
Speaking at the event, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Wakanow Group, Bayo Adedeji, said the company had in recent times launched many tools to ease traveling across the continent, noting that Wakanow Group has been working assiduously to make different innovations in travels.
His words: “We recently launched Project Two Phase, this is a procedure where people can talk to the personnel in the customer service unit without physically going to the centre. A place where you can click a button and a video pops up and you can talk to an agent financed by us. We want to deploy 200 of these across Africa.
“We are launching a corporate booking tool that allows corporate bodies to manage their entire booking experience using technology, bypassing the manual process of sending emails to do quoting.
“We are launching a lot of things for government. We are saying to government let us manage your travels so that you can see where your people go to. We are looking to take over the travel for government. We are trying to do this across Africa: Togo, Benin Republic, Nigeria and the states. Let us bring innovation into the space of travel, let us manage the hotel bookings, let us do things for you. The future is bright. With my team and customers we can achieve great success together.”
Highlighting the regional impact, Chief Executive Officer, Wakanow Rest of Africa, Sodie Osei-Bonsu, commented, “The launch of these products underscores our commitment to enhancing travel and financial solutions across Africa. We are focused on providing tailored services that meet the unique needs of our diverse customer base, ensuring that every traveller and user can benefit from our advanced technology.”
On her part, the Chief Executive of Wakanow, Mrs. Nike Macaulay, said the crux of the event was to expose what Wakanow Group has been building behind the scene to improve service delivery to customers.
“Today, we are showcasing all the new innovation, new products and new Wakanow websites that bring ease to the booking process of our customers, allowing them to pay in multiple currencies.
“We launched the Kalabash in partnership with MasterCard and Room de.com,” Macaulay said.
Also speaking at the event, Chief Executive of Kalabash 54, Ladi Ojuri, said: “With the Kalabash App, users can effortlessly manage their pay small small transactions, book flights, settle bills, etc, while Senior Vice President of Product & Strategy, Gbolahan Salami, said Room de.com is aimed to redefine the landscape of travel and accommodation globally, noting that it offers ease of access to a wide range of accommodation coupled with accurate information on pricing and availability.
