William Troost-Ekong, the Super Eagles captain, believes the Unity Cup tournament provides a unique chance for the squad to thoroughly prepare for the remaining 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The three-time African champions will participate in the 2025 Unity Cup, alongside Ghana, Jamaica, and Trinidad and Tobago.

Éric Chelle will play two games in the invitational competition.

The Super Eagles will come up against eternal rivals Ghana in the semi-final.

They will play in the third-place match or final depending on the outcome of the game against Ghana.

“This is a great tournament for us to reunite and continue strategizing for the upcoming World Cup qualifying games,” Troost-Ekong told thenff.com.
