The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) council has elected a new Vice Chancellor (VC) for the institution.
The council announced on Friday afternoon the new VC, Prof Aliyu Shugaba, current Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Services) emerged in a keenly contested race involving 14 professors.
