…graduates about 30,000 students

The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) on Saturday conferred honorary doctorate degree on Vice President Kashim Shettima, business mogul Alhaji Abdul-Samad Rabiu and the Shehu of Borno at its 24th Combined Conviction ceremony.
Unimaid Vice Chancellor, Prof Aliyu Shugaba in his address said the three individual have supported academic growth and research development in the institution.
“Alhaji Absul-Samad Rabiu, the CEO of BUA International Group has just donated a multi-billion naira international Centre for Innovative and Enterpreneushi,” he disclosed.
He said the centre has been providing entrepreneurship training for many and serves as a paradigm shift.
He said about 30,000 undergraduates, post graduates, diploma and certificate students from regular academic programmes, affiliate college and distant learning centers were being awarded various degrees and academic certificates in the convocation.
The VC said the institution combines graduates from 2018 to 2023 academic years in the 24th edition of the convocation.
