Authorities of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, say thousands of candidates who applied for the 2023/2024 admission exercise would write the post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) online and at their various homes.
The UNILAG post-UTME registration for the 2023/2024 academic session started on Monday, July 10, for two weeks.
The Education Report gathered that this is the second time UNILAG would conduct the post-UTME test online (home). The first was during the 2020/2021 academic session.
Head, Communication Unit, UNILAG, Alhaja Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, said the total number of candidates that applied for different courses was not available because registration for the post-UTME was still on.
Said she: “It is only when we are through with online registration that we will be able to tell you the number of applicants that applied for admission into UNILAG for the 2023/2024 academic session.
“The first post-UTME online test was held in 2020/2021, the COVID-19 period.
“The university’s online registration for the post-UTME screening exercise for admission into all courses for the 2023/2024 academic year is from Monday, 10th, to Friday, 28th July, 2023.”
UNILAG’s management rolled out 10 instructions for the home online test and advised candidates to adhere to them, and have reliable Internet connection before attempting the online aptitude test.
“Your activities during the period of the aptitude test will be monitored and recorded. Candidates will be required to attempt the test with a webcam and microphone-enabled device.
“Candidates are forbidden from covering their webcam during the period of the aptitude test. Our inability to see the candidates at any time during the test may result in disqualification,” UNILAG management stated.
Meanwhile, the candidates were warned that during the attitude test, they are not permitted to leave their position, stating, you are advised to adequately prepare before commencing the test.”
The institution further advised “in the course of the attitude test, you are not permitted to leave the test tab for another tab or application on the computer for any reason, not even to use the computer calculator. Departure from the test tab may result in disqualification.”
One of the instructions warned that nobody is permitted to be around the candidate during the period of the test, “not even members of your family. You will be disqualified if anybody is seen around you during the test.”
“The duration of the attitude test is 30 minutes. The time starts to count immediately you click the start button and continues to count even if you log out before your 30 minutes lapses.
“In the event that you run out of time, your attitude test will automatically be submitted. Use of facemasks or face caps during the test is prohibited. Candidates should note that they could only login in on their scheduled date and time, “the instructions added.
