UniBen VC, Prof. Salami, emerges CVC chairman

Vice-Chancellor, University of Benin (UniBen), Prof. Lilian Imuetinyan Salami, has been elected the Chairman of the Committee of Vice-Chancellors (CVC) of Nigerian Federal Universities.

She became the second female Vice-Chancellor to head the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Federal Universities.

Secretary- General of CVC, Prof. Yakubu Ochefu, in a statement, confirmed that the Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University Kano, Prof. Sagir Adamu Abbas, was also elected as the Alternate Chairman.

Prof. Ochefu, in the statement indicated that elections were ratified at virtual/physical meeting held at CVC Secretariat in Abuja.

He explained that until her election Prof. Salami’s was the Alternate Chairman to Prof. Sulyman A Abdulkareem, who will be completing his tenure as the Vice-Chancellor, University of Ilorin, on the 15th October, 2022.

He extended the good wishes of the CVC Secretariat to the two members of the Executive Board of CVC as they take over the mantle of leadership.
