The Chief Judge of the Federal High Court (FHC), Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, has expressed his readiness to clear himself on allegations of undeclared bank accounts and discrepancies in his age declaration.

Justice Tsoho, who said he is currently out of the country for medical care, stated that he is prepared to appear before the Bureau on March 16 to respond to the series of allegations against him.

It was reported by a section of the media that Justice Tsoho has violated the Code of Conduct Law by failing to declare some of his bank accounts in his asset declaration form.

According to the report, the asset declaration form he completed and submitted to the Code of Conduct Bureau on April 29, 2024, Justice Tsoho did not disclose several bank accounts (naira and domiciliary) as required by law.

The report specifically disclosed that the Chief Judge failed to declare three separate accounts domiciled with United Bank for Africa, namely 300007154, 3000201901, and 3000075689.

It added that he did not disclose his ownership of account number 1756816871, domiciled with Access Bank.

However, in a statement issued yesterday by the court’s Director of Information, Catherine  Christopher, the Chief Judge said he would be accompanied by his lawyer and former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice (AGF), Kanu Agabi, SAN, to the CCB to defend himself.

The statement read in part: “The Federal High Court of Nigeria wishes to clarify that the Honourable Chief Judge, Hon. Justice John Terhemba Tsoho, remains fully committed to cooperating with the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) in respect of its invitation.

“In accordance with his constitutional right to consult and be represented by counsel of his choice, his legal representative, Kanu Godwin Agabi, SAN, has indicated his readiness to accompany the Chief Judge to the Bureau upon his return to Nigeria, he being presently outside the country for medical reasons.

“This position has been duly communicated to the Code of Conduct Bureau, affirming the Chief Judge’s willingness to appear and participate in the process in full compliance with the law and established constitutional safeguards.

“For scheduling purposes, the Bureau has been informed that any date within the week commencing Monday, 16 March 2026, is convenient for the Honourable Chief Judge and his counsel.

“The Hon. Chief Judge reiterates his commitment to due process, transparency, and respect for the rule of law,” the statement said.
