Umuoji community honours Anyachukwu

It was a time of joy and laughter recently as Umuoji Improvement Union, Women’s wing, Lagos State, gave awards of excellence to their illustrious sons and daughter. Among those who received the award is Mrs. Lucy Ojiugu Anyachukwu, an octogenarian, who bagged matronship award.

In her remarks, Mrs Anyachukwu thanked Umuoji women for finding her worthy of the award, adding that the recognition would spur her to do more in service to humanity.

According to organisers of the event, Anyachukwu was recognized because of the life of patience, hard work, love, selfless service she rendered to women of Umuoji Town, Idemili-North Local Government Area Anambra State.

While advising the women to promote peace in their homes, Anyachukwu, a mother of six, and great grand-mother said: “Married women should be patient despite marriage challenges, child rearing and other stress of life, especially this time that the economy is so bad.”

She also urges them to be focused as Christians in order to tell a better story in their old age.

A member of different professional career, Mrs. Anyachukwu stated unequivocally that presently she lives a life of awesome gratitude to God Almighty for all she has attained in life.
