Umbugadu emerges Nasarawa PDP guber candidate

A member of the House of Representatives, representing Akwanga, Nasarawa Eggon and Wamba Federal Constituency of Nasarawa State, Hon. David Umbugadu, has emerged the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP ) for the 2019 governorship election in the state.
Hon. Umbugadu contested along with other four aspirants, including a former FCT minister, Sen. Solomon Ewuga and incumbent senator for Nasarawa North, Sen. Philip Gyunka, a former Deputy governor Damishi Luka and Sen. Patricia Akwashiki.
Umbugadu polled 745 votes to defeat his co-contestant Senator Ewuga who scored 551, while senator Gyunka scored 123, Damishi got 18 votes and Sen Akwashiki step down.

Chairman of the state’s PDP primary committee, Mr. Emmanuel Anyanwu, announced the result, on Monday, in Keffi, at the venue of the primary election.
Our correspondent gathered that out of 1, 502 delegates, only 1, 490 were accredited and voted.
Reacting to his victory after the poll, Hon. Umbugadu expressed gratitude to the delegates and leaders of the party for the confidence reposed on him.
He promised not to let them down and appealed to all members of the party to join hands with him in order ensure that the party come out victorious in 2019 election.
