Ukrainian government has written former governor of Abia State and Chairman of Slok Group, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, requesting his presence as Special Guest of Honour for the 2017 ‘Day of Odessa’ celebration in Ukraine.
Day of Odessa is an annual event held in Odessa, a city governed by a Mayor and ranks as the third most populous city in Ukraine
A letter personally signed by the Major of Odessa, His Excellency Gennadiy Trukhanov, said “many reputable international figures with prowess in leadership and business had honoured the occasion in the past” and asked Kalu to honour the event on September 1.
The Mayor said: “It is a pleasure for me to invite you as our Special Guest as well as accompanying persons to visit Odessa and take part in our celebrations during which everybody enjoys inimitable atmosphere of beautiful multidimensional Odessa and unquenchable optimism of its citizens.”
“Your acceptance of this kind request would undoubtedly propel a strong rallying point for establishment of cross cultural relationship and exchange of experiences between the people of Nigeria and Ukraine,” Trukhanov said.
