The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), has advised against all travel to parts of Nigeria.
The FCDO also advised against all, but essential travel to parts of Nigeria.
In a foreign travel advice dated August 20, 2026, FCDO advised against travel to the North-eastern part of Nigeria, particularly Borno State, Yobe State, Adamawa State, and Gombe State.
FCDO also advised against all, but essential travel to Bauchi State.
In the North West, it advised against all travel to Katsina State and Zamfara State.
FCDO further advised against all but essential travel to Kaduna State, Kano State, Kebbi State, Jigawa State, and Sokoto State.
In North Central and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, the FCDO advised against all but essential travel to Niger State, Kogi State, Plateau State, Taraba State, Kwara State and Benue State.
In the South East and South South, FCDO advised against all travel to the riverine areas such as the river and swamp locations accessible by boat, but not by road.
States listed included Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom and Cross River states.
The United Kingdom further advised against all but essential travel to Abia State, non-riverine areas of Delta, Bayelsa, and Rivers States, including Anambra State and Imo States.
