Police in the United Kingdom have identified Khaleed Oladipo, a Nigerian student, as the 20-year-old who was fatally stabbed near De Montfort University in Leicester.
According to the Leicestershire Police, Oladipo died in a hospital on Tuesday evening after being stabbed in Oxford Street.
An 18-year-old murder suspect arrested on suspicion of murder is reportedly in custody amid ongoing investigations.
Oladipo died from a stab wound to the chest, as revealed by a post-mortem examination. He was in his second year at De Montfort University studying cyber-security.
The deceased was described by his family as “a good boy who loved his family”.

“We cannot begin to put into words how sad we are to have lost Khaleed,” Oladipo’s family said, as quoted by the BBC.
The family added that Oladipo was an avid football and Arsenal fan and believed he was on his way home to watch a match when he was stabbed.
“We believe he was on his way home to watch the game later that night when he was stabbed and killed.”
The bereaved family expressed gratitude to members of the public who attempted to help Oladipo, as well as ambulance and hospital staff “who did all they could to try and save him”.
“We are also really grateful to the police for their efforts in the investigation so far to ensure the person responsible is brought to justice. We are struggling to understand why anyone would do this.”
