Uhiele Development Forum (UDF) has finalied arrangement to hold the maiden edition of the Uhiele Summit, bringing together sons and daughters of the community at home and abroad to deliberate on issues affecting the development and future of the people.
With the rallying call, “Uhiele to the World—The Future Begins from Home,” the summit is scheduled for Saturday, September 5 at the Uhiele Community Town Hall, Ukpoke, Uhiele, Ekpoma.
Themed “Advancing the Cause of the Uhiele People,” the summit will provide a platform for community stakeholders to engage in meaningful discussions on development, unity, security and other issues central to the progress and wellbeing of Uhiele.
According to the president of UDF, Mr. Zuberious Edeoghon, Fidelis Inegbedion will chair the summit, while Governor Monday Okpebholo is expected as distinguished guest of honour.
Chairman of Esan West Local Government Area, Blessing Albert Ebhodaghe, will be the special guest of honour, and Onojie of Ekpoma, Zaiki Anthony Abumere II, will serve as royal father of the day.
In a statement announcing the event, the forum invited elders, chiefs and sons and daughters of Uhiele at home and abroad as well as members of the public, to participate actively and contribute ideas towards building a stronger and more prosperous community.
It described the gathering as an opportunity for the people to come together, reason collectively and renew their commitment to the advancement of Uhiele.
The organisers also urged community members to circulate the invitation widely and encourage every son and daughter of Uhiele to attend.
Traditional leaders, community development stakeholders, professionals, youths, women and other members of the community are expected at the summit, where discussions will focus on charting a common path towards sustainable development.
The forum expressed the hope that the summit would strengthen the bonds of unity among the people while generating practical ideas and renewed commitment towards addressing the developmental and security challenges confronting the community.
