From George Onyejiuwa, Owerri

The Metropolitan Archbishop of Owerri Catholic Diocese and President of Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), His Grace Most Rev Luicius Iwejuru Ugorji, has commended Mr. Charles Oguibe for building a chapel for his community.

According to the Archbishop, Oguibe has not only built a house for God but has also registered his name in the good books of life.

He noted that the late patriarch of the Oguibe family, Livinus Oguibe, had lived an exemplary life which motivated the building of the Chapel for the community.

Ugorji made the commendation at the dedication of the Chapel of Perpetual Adoration for Christ the King Church ( CKC) in the Eziama community in Ngor Okpala council area of Imo on December 27, 2023.

Delivering the homily, Archbishop Ugorji:  “Charles Oguibe did not only build a place of worship for God, he had also registered his name in the good books of life, a legacy that would live for decades.

“The same way Charles built a Chapel of worship in this Church after he was taken to a shrine, was the same way I did when I was at Umuahia and made all manner of people, especially politicians see it as a place of covenant with God before they could embark on any electoral pursuit”.

Ugorji, therefore, charged the donor not to relent in sowing in God’s vineyard, even as he enjoined the People of God on selfless giving, Charity and strong faith in God.

The Parish Priest of the Christ the King Church, Eziama, Fr. Onyekwere also commended Mr. Charles Oguibe and his family for the beautiful Chapel of Adoration built for the Church and prayed for God’s blessings and protection on the family.

Speaking to newsmen at his country home, Charles Oguibe expressed gratitude to God for giving him the enablement to fulfill his promise of building a Chapel for him.
